The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) said that Taiwan's industrial production index posted a new single-month high at 112.56 in October, according to Commercial Times on November 25. In particular, the Computers, Electronic & Optical Products sector increased 17.69% year on year, thanks to the brisk sales of iPhone 6/6 Plus, strong demand for industrial computers and servers, and contract manufacturers' increasing production capacity of notebook PCs and components. MOEA anticipates that the emergence of wearable devices and IoT (Internet of Things), together with increasing capacity of machinery, automobile, and steel, will continue to bolster Taiwan's manufacturing industry in the fourth quarter.
